Sierra Nevada Torpedo and my first HOMEBREW

From beermusic

Sierra Nevada Torpedo. MMMM. I don't remember specifics, but I remember good foam and lacing, extra special piney hops and goodness. Just wanted to put that up since it's one of the better new things I've tried recently.

Laura's anniversary gift to me was a HOMEBREW KIT. That's right. Anyway, I probably blew it in trying to siphon from the fermenter, so there's a tiny bit of sourness, but its' not too noticeable. At this point, two weeks after the addition of finishing sugar and yeast, the sugar is a bit much, but hopefully that will mellow out over the next few weeks. Lots of alcohol, great persistent lacing foam and barley body. Honestly, I wouldn't pay a lot of money for it in a six pack, but the freshness makes a difference, though I can't put a particular name on it. Anyway, this was from a pre-packaged IPA mix, and I'll probably try the same thing over again to see if I can screw up less in the process. It's a start!
